Today was the first snowfall. It was chilly and clear out, and the snow began when we were in the movie theatre tonight. We went to watch that horrible HoRrIbLe movie called "Vampire$," starring James Woods and Daniel Baldwin. God, was it awful. Most of the audience was laughing in derision through the whole thing, but I think it might have been on the scale of watching Evil Dead movies: You just can't stop watching them. You just have to accept that they're horrible horrible pieces of filmmaking, and maybe next time you should pack in a few brewskies or something to help cloud the pain.

So, we get outside, and of course I am so inappropriately dressed for the weather. I'm not wearing a bra, I have a cotton poplin white shirt on, a canvas vest, blue jeans, and SANDALS. OK, I'm wearing my leather jacket, but jeeez. Sandals? Sandals??? I really have little patience for shoes anymore. I wear my Docs nearly every day to work, and usually have to tighten them during the day because the laces slip a little, and I am tired of putting on shoes taking longer than putting on all the rest of my clothes. I like slip-on shoes. I need to find a good place that sells Chinese slippers. Yesh. I love those, and I want to get several pair, and sew little flowers onto some of them. I used to wear them all the time in high school.

Today was alright. I had a bit of an internal hissy fit earlier in the day because there was not enough to do, and then later in the day I felt a lot more relaxed, and I have no idea what the correlation was, but I suddenly really liked my job. I had two co-workers compliment me, and while it's nice, I know also they're impressed because they don't realize I've been with the company for as long as I have, and that I've been a manager. That's OK. Let them think I am a genius.

I also re-did the dye in my hair, and it looks soooo much better now. The greens and vague pinks settled back into their midnight blues and violets. I mixed the two dyes up a little when I smushed them into my hair earlier tonight, and the effect is lovely. I really like my hair this short and all these different colors.

Last night was fun, and I was not expecting it all. I went to maybe the millionth wedding last night, this time it was for my cousin Tommy. It was a lovely reception, but because of bad planning and the wedding being in Joliet, we did not make the ceremony. Heh, we thought maybe our dry cleaning would have been done sooner. Oh well. But the reception was at this place called the Haley Mansion, and the dinner was in this tent outside the house, and everyone kept commenting that it looked like the set to My Best Friend's Wedding, but I have never seen that movie. If you have, then you can guess what it looked like. The mansion itself was fabulous. Huge, and with gorgeous window casements and pocket doors, and lots of love. There was a sitting room way up in the attic, and it was just so cosy and nice. Purrrrrr.

We did not stay long, for I had to work this morning at 7am. But I had my brother's friend supplying me with treats from the bar, and I was pretty happy by the time I left. Rum and coke is a beautiful thing. And our table was the best one there. But of course! When you've got me there, things are sure to be loud and obnoxious. I am of the opinion the happy couple must never finish their dinner, so I clanged away on my wine glass as often as possible. ;) I'm evil.

Life is good. I have to keep telling myself that. My mood is so inconstant these days, and I know it's the change in the weather and all, but it wears me out. I just have to remember that everything will be alright.
