It's very windy out today, and I am hungry, and my hands are tingling far too much. This resurgence of pain and problems with my hands leaves me feeling much less than happy, and a little confused. I took it easy on my hands yesterday at work, yet early this morning I had some circulation problems, almost as if I had spent four hours straight on the old espresso bar, or maybe I yanked a laundry basket from the ground, jarring my wrists. But I grabbed boxes slowly, and tried to hold them more with my arms. I did have a good amount of caffeine, and that is never good when you have carpal tunnel, etc.
The thing that confuses me is that when it all started up again it was my right hand that was causing me problems, and the typical thumb/index/middle finger numbness I had heard was common with carpal. But today? My left hand, and mostly the two other fingers, ring and pinky, are the ones going numb. Right now I can feel my thumb going a bit tingly, but nothing serious. Bah! I also need to keep hydrated. I know now that since I no longer manage a cafe, I am no longer behind the counter with easy access to cold cold ice water. So, I've maybe gone from 64 oz. of water a day and upwards to maybe a can of pop, a juice, and a coffee while I am at work. Scott and I have been gangbusters on the KoolAid at home.
Spent a good hour or so gleaning a cutting from a script last night, and it feels good. I have the actual script marked, and a typed copy on disk, and today I will be able to print it out and give it to my students. I really enjoy working on speech team. It can be very satisfying work. Actually, anything that gives me an excuse to read scripts and dissect them and throw myself emotionally into them is a good thing.
