4 , 2006. It feels weird to be so quiet as I walk down Michigan Avenue, the buildings all shiny around me, the people still crowded and close as if it were still the holidays. It is chilly today, and the streets are still wetted down from the rainy mist of this morning. Everything seems more and more lively as we pass out of the coma of the time off and the retail overtime. Today at work I watched Batman Begins, and I really wish I had seen it on a big screen - maybe even my little television screen at home instead of the portable DVD player I use in my office. What a great movie! I really liked seeing major portions of downtown Chicago as representative of Gotham. Many of those chase scenes in the Batmobile go right past buildings I zombie past every single weekday as I trudge up from the subway to my building. Chicago's so lovely. The bridges, the roads, the architecture, the gestalt. All of it. It is home. go
